Gatesville ISD – Open Enrollment

 

Gatesville Independent School District’s Benefit PLAN YEAR is September 1st  through August 31st.  The ANNUAL ENROLLMENT will take place starting July 16th and end on August 24th.  All benefit elections and changes must be made during this time period.  Representativesfrom Combined Benefits Group, our 3rd Party Benefits Administrator will be on site to assist employees with completing your enrollment.  Please refer to the enrollment schedule below.  We encourage you to go online and select your benefits as soon as possible. Please don’t wait until the last minute to do this. It’s better to plan out your needs and weigh your options for the next year while relaxing at home, than to do so while getting ready for the new school year.

Important Benefit Information

 

 

 

TRS Active Care Health Insurance:

Beginning with the 2018-2019 plan year, employees enrolled in ActiveCare Select will have the option of two specific networks from which to choose:  Seton Health Alliance and Baylor Scott and White Quality Alliance.   Once the plan year begins, changes cannot be made in the network you have selected until the following plan year.

 

The Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance Provider Network is not the same as the Scott & White HMO Network.  Please make sure to review each plans website to ensure your doctor is In-Network as the ActiveCare Select plan does not cover out of network charges.

In addition, effective 9/1/2018, there will be no new enrollments allowed into ActiveCare 2.  During the annual enrollment employees currently enrolled in ActiveCare 2 will be allowed to remain in the plan.  Employees currently enrolled will be able to add/remove dependents.

Disability:

If you are enrolled in the disability plan, you now have the option at add a Lump Sum Disability Rider in the amount of $10,000, $20,000 or $30,000.  This benefit is payable if your doctor determines that you will be unable to return to work for at least 24 months.

 

Critical Illness:

MetLife is replacing Sun Life Financial as the district’s critical illness provider at lower premiums.  The new plan is guaranteed issue (no health questions) from $5,000 up to $50,000 in $5,000 increments.  If you are currently enrolled your coverage will simply roll over to the new plan.

Vision:

The vision plan is not changing, however there was a slight rate increase.  Please refer to the benefit guide and/or benefit portal for more information.

Term Life Insurance

MetLife is replacing Sun Life Financial as the district’s term life provider at the exact same premiums.  Employees will have the opportunity to enroll in up to $100,000 in coverage without answering health questions.  If you are currently enrolled your coverage will simply roll over to the new plan.

 

 

Review your Elections & Make Changes

 

 

Benefit Elections:

 

Your benefit elections will become effective 9/1/2018 (Exception: elections requiring evidence of insurability, such as life insurance, may have a later effective date, if approved).  After the annual enrollment closes, benefit changes can only be made if you experience an IRS qualifying event (changes must be made within 30 days of the qualifying event).  IRS Qualifying Events include, but are not limited to: Change in Marital Status, Birth or Adoption of a Child, Death of a Dependent, Change of Employee’s or Spouse’s Employment, Entitlement to Medicare or Medicaid, FMLA Leave and COBRA Qualifying Event.  Should you have specific questions regarding certain circumstances, please contact Combined Benefits Group, our 3rd Party Benefit Administrator for approval of changes.

To log in, please visit www.mybenefitshub.com/gatesvilleisd then click on the LOGIN link on the homepage.

 

  • Username: First 6 letters of your last name, your first initial followed by the last 4 digits of your Social Security number.

 

  • Password: Full last name followed by the last 4 digits of your Social Security number (no spaces).
