Superintendent's Message
I want to welcome you not only to Gatesville Independent School District, but also to this generous, supportive, family-oriented community. Gatesville is a wonderful place to raise a family, and our school system provides all of our students with a well-rounded education.
Over the past few years, we have placed a high priority on literacy as well as career and technical education (CTE) courses. Our CTE courses have students taking industry-based certifications, so that they are more competitive in the job market upon graduation. Our CTE courses also culminate in a practicum during students' senior year, whereby they work at local businesses in their field of study. This real-world experience often leads to quicker employment for our students.
Our curriculum offers students a wide variety of courses that will prepare them for college, a career, or the military. We place a heavy emphasis not only on preparing students for college through advanced academics, but we also work diligently to support our struggling learners until they are successful. With a large selection of electives and athletic choices, it is our hope that we offer something for everyone.
We continue to invest in technology, our facilities, and in our teachers through quality professional development so that our students receive a top-notch education. Our teachers, aides, bus drivers, nutrition workers, administrators, and entire staff are extremely hard-working and caring. As a product of GISD, I can attest to the long tradition of great people working in this district. With that, I want to welcome you to Gatesville ISD!
