Out of District Transfers

Out of District Transfers

Applications for out-of-district transfers must be submitted each year to the district.

Gatesville ISD does not provide transportation for transfer students. Transportation will be the responsibility of the parent.

When evaluating transfer requests, the following will be considered:

  • The needs of the student and the program availability on the campus
  • Available space in the school/classrooms
  • UIL Rules
  • Student’s attendance, grades, and discipline history

Out-of-District Transfer Process:

1.  Complete the Out-of-District Transfer Request Form or obtain a transfer packet from the Campus/District office.

2.  Once the Google form is submitted, the campus will request records (if applicable) and review the application.  If the paper form is obtained, return it to the campus/district office to start the review process.

3.  The campus principal will review and meet with the parent/guardian or student if applicable.

4:  The campus principal holds the authority to grant or deny the transfer request.

5:  If approved, the campus principal sends the application to the district administration office for the superintendent’s final review/approval.

6:  If the application is denied, the principal will contact the parent.
